"...best known for her acid tinged disco/techno sets, her shows on Balamii and Netil Radio cover an array of genres, from funk and techno to disco, jazz and everything in between which has seen huge numbers tune into her shows every week"
Resident and founder of female-centric WXMB 2, LUCiD has been spreading her wings rapidly throughout the UK, as well as reaching as far as Germany, Croatia, Thailand, Singapore & even Uganda.
Spotted by London party heavyweights Percolate in early 2016, she was given a slot on their stage at Secret Garden Party and has since played a number of well known events & festivals including Glastonbury, Gottwood, Festival Number 6, Futureboogie, Percolate, Love International and many more.
Although best known for her acid tinged disco/techno sets, her shows on Balamii Radio cover an array of genres, from funk and techno to disco, jazz and everything in between which has seen huge numbers tune into her shows every week.
Lucy is particularly passionate about women's rights and equalising the music industry. Having become fed up with repeatedly seeing male dominated line-ups, in 2017 she created a female only DJ database which has now reached nearly 10,000 people and continues to be shared and updated, with promoters regularly consulting her for the latest and best female DJ's for their events.
Around the same time, LUCiD joined forces with Petra Kluk to create WXMB 2, a music and arts platform to showcase female talent. Already creating a huge buzz within the industry and press, WXMB 2 is now curating festival stage takeovers, global events and a support network for 1000s of womxn.
At the end of 2018, LUCiD put out a free download of her Mother and Child edit which has since been downloaded and played across the globe in places like Copenhagen and Canada.
In 2020 keep your eyes peeled for some more productions as LUCiD continues to surprise and flourish. As Slothboogie said in her guest mix intro, "a definite one to keep your eyes and ears open for".
